The story, “Greetings and Blessings” had an interesting genesis. Back in grad school in the mid 90’s, I was preparing to go home for Christmas. Before leaving, I was sending out an email to some friends saying goodbye, Merry Christmas, etc.
After two or three lines of my greeting, words just started flowing, and for 20-30 minutes, they kept coming so I kept typing, and I honestly didn’t know where they were heading until they came out. It has become one of my favorite stories and one of the favorites of my own writings. I don’t think it necessarily fits among the world’s greatest literature, but it is special to me and I hope you’ve enjoyed it also.
